The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center presents the Salt Lake City Premiere of Mele Murals on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at 7p. The FREE screening will be held at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art and is open to all ages. 

Q&A with John "Prime" Hina, Kanoa Castro, Producer Aina Paikai and myself.

New York Screening of Mele Murals feat. Pua Case - Oct. 14

Mele Murals will be screening on Friday, Oct. 14th at 4p at the Margaret Mead Festival in New York. This screening will feature a very special guest. Auntie Pua Case will be coming from the Big Island for Q&A following the film!

Don't miss this opportunity to meet one of the leaders of the Native Hawaiian community featured in the film. She is an activist, cultural practitioner, educator and mother.

Auntie Pua recently went to North Dakota to stand with the Standing Rock Sioux in their effort to protect their land and water from the construction of the 1,172-mile Dakota Access Pipeline.

Returning to the Claremont Colleges on 10/3

I'll be returning to the Claremont Colleges to participate on the "Public Art, Identity, and Space" panel on Monday, October 3rd at 11:00a. The event will be located in the Founders Room in the Claremont Colleges Library.

I will also be meeting with the students at Pitzer's Center for Asian Pacific American Students at 4:00p at Mead Hall - 132. I'll be discussing the different ways a filmmaker can serve community.
